Fruit For Schools

We support the ‘Fruit for Schools' Government Initiative and promote healthy
eating through our school ethos and curriculum work. Each child in Foundation
and Key Stage 1 is entitled to a piece of fruit/vegetable on a daily basis.
In the Foundation Stage, the children eat their fruit during the afternoon
session as part of a circle time. Fruit offered in Key Stage 1 is either
available for a playtime snack or is eaten during a whole class circle
time. We continue to encourage children to bring a healthy snack to school
for morning playtime should they wish to do so.
Fruit and vegetables available include: bananas, apples, satsumas, carrots, pears, tomatoes and strawberries when they are in season.
