Harvest Festival

All our harvest donation for the Harvest Festival goes to the Food Cupboard at St. Mary's Church in Bletchley to help local families in desperate need.

Jeans for Genes

Children and staff take part in the Jeans for Genes day every year.

Advantage Africa -January 2005

Money was raised during the School Christmas Concerts, where children helped a local charity Advantage Africa with fundraising. The picture in the top right hand corner shows Two Year 6 Pupils and Mr Scull present a cheque for £600 to Andrew Betts, director of Advantage Africa. The money was put towards helping to fund Teachers in Africa. Andrew came in to talk to the children prior to the fundraising and again later to tell them how their money was being spent.

Giles Brook Streetcare Champions spend the morning with the Mayor of Milton Keynes, showing how the school are piloting the Milton Keynes Streetcare initiative in schools to promote good citizenship and care for the local environment. ( more..... )

Samaritan's Purse - October 2003 / 2004 / 2005

Every year the children have the opportunity to support Operation Christmas Child, which is a project of Samaritan's Purse. Families who wish to support this charity, fill up a shoe box with small toys, school supplies, hats, scarves and other gifts. The boxes are then sent to poor children around the World. To find out more visit Samaritan's Purse web site.

RSPCA - May 2005

Two separate projects were done by year 3 and year 4 and the children from both year groups decided to raise money for the RSPCA but in very different ways.

Year 3

The children decided that they wanted to create their own games and then set up and ran their own stalls, taking money and giving change, as each class in turn visited their event during the day.

Year 4

Children in year 4 learnt about all the different animal welfare organisations, they decided to do a sponsored event to raise money and decided that they would sponsor themselves, their teachers and teaching assistants to dress up for the day as pets. They raised £141 for a RSPCA.

Choir raise money for Special Care baby Unit - December 2003

The school choir sang carols in the entrance to Safeway's for 60 minutes. They managed to cause quite a bit of congestion as many shoppers stopped to listen to them, but everyone really enjoyed the Christmas cheer and they raised a lot of money for Milton Keynes Hospital, Special Care Baby Unit.

Blue Peter Appeal

The school supports many other charities and these have included the NSPCC, the Ark Charity and Red Nose Day.
